Asset Management Co-ordinator

Facilities Management



Reporting to a Project Manager, this position is responsible for preparing, maintaining and updating long term maintenance capital reinvestment forecasts and budget justifications for new and existing systems/equipments that align with identified long term asset sustainability plans. The incumbent will:



· Research, develop and implement preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance programs to achieve tangible capital asset management goals for new and existing systems and equipment

· Establish asset management procedures and processes through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and preventative maintenance software

· Develop plan schedules and strategies with project designers and co-ordinate building audits with internal staff and external agencies

· Compile, review and analyze preventative and breakdown maintenance and associated costs to support equipment and process upgrades and purchases

· Calibrate and verify the accuracy of the condition assessment, retro and continuous commissioning models and update the models as required

· Co-ordinate and review engineering designs, drawings and technical documents to ensure quality control and sustainability for all new and existing facility infrastructure projects

· Maintain control of inventory and non-inventory items for asset management and budget control purposes for all Regional Facilities locations

· Research new vendors and procure materials using FIMS and CMMS to ensure adequate supply of necessary tools and materials

· Perform maintenance and housekeeping of the stockroom and yard



The successful applicant will possess:



· A 3-year post secondary Mechanical Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent

· Registration or be eligible for registration as an Engineering Technologist with O.A.C.E.T.T.

· Knowledge and understanding of the Asset Management Capital Projects Program, Regional Policies, Procedures and Facilities, Health and Safety, Regional Design Specifications and Standards, Purchasing By-Law, Maintenance Management System

· Experience reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications

· Experience in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access, Project), AutoCAD, GroupWise, Internet, Avantis CMMS, PeopleSoft Financial Information Management System (FIMS), as well as other purchasing and inventory control software

· Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment

· Demonstrated project management and organizational abilities

· Proven research, analytical and problem-solving skills

· A valid Ontario driver's licence (Class 'G' or higher)
